There are many theories of the origin of the name of Bell, but the real truth behind the Norwegian name of "Bell" (what we in Norway call "Farm names") or the Scottish one is not necessarily known.There are many Norwegians with Scottish origin as a result of the trade between Scotland and the costal parts of Norway, especial the western and northern parts, in the 15th century. It is therefore possible that the Bell farms are named after the Scottish surename "Bell"....
